At the Catskills retreat, dogs directly experience country life. They become dogs again, spending the larger part of the day outside. Well-trained dogs are free to roam the property off-leash - of course - with supervision. The too young and independent minded, the old and the less well-trained stay within the securely fenced wooded play area. This half-acre run also includes two straw-filled playhouses in case of inclement weather or a quick daytime nap. For every ones safety, small dogs are separated in a scaled down playground and daytime shelter. The highlights of every day are swimming in the pond on the property, or going hiking and running in the surrounding forests and fields Only off-leash trained dogs are taken outside of the property for hiking and running, and only with owners signed approval. When Tailwagger is not upstate at the country retreat, the traveling show is back at the base camp in Brooklyn, where the activities are equally energetic. In Brooklyn, the tail wagging clientele spends a generous amount of time in city parks, dog runs and on some beaches. On the way home, there is always a chance for a quick photo opportunity at such popular landmarks as the hot dog stands of Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens. |
